The French trade deficit narrowed slightly in October, with exports falling by 0.5% compared to the previous month, while imports declined more sharply by 4.6%. As a result, the trade balance showed some improvement, revised from a prior deficit of €6.58 billion to €6.35 billion.
Looking at the less volatile three-month moving average, the trade deficit remained relatively stable at €5.2 billion, only a minor change from €5.1 billion in September.
These figures suggest a modest improvement in France’s trade position, influenced primarily by a notable reduction in imports.
